Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo – Salem should be accessible for all, so we’re kicking off a citywide sidewalk assessment & repair project. Using SeeClickFix & 311 @SalemMADPS has taken in hundreds of repair requests. Now we’re creating a plan to zero that list out, with construction set to start this spring.

Salem Rep. Manny CruzI was honored to be invited by the Latino American Student Association and officials at Salem State to be the keynote speaker at this year’s annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. In my keynote address, I spoke about my career highlights and paid tribute to the Latina trailblazers in our city Claudia Chuber, and Lucy Corchado who paved the way for my leadership. Lucy was in attendance and I was honored to have the opportunity to affirm her sacrifices and service to our community. I additionally imparted to the students the contributions of Latinos in civics, business, and the nonprofit sector, and how important it is for them to get involved and engaged in our community. As Salem State approaches HSI status it will be critically important to continue to uplift Latino voices on campus. Thank you to President Keenan for having me and for embracing the next generation of leaders in our city.
