LYNN (Videos / Photos) Salem comes from behind to beat Lynn Classical 48-44, a team they had not beat in 19years. The were seven lead changes in the game, all of them in the second half and the last one came with just 13 seconds remaining in the game. Both teams turned in big offensive plays in the second half. The halftime score was (18-18). Lynn Classical scored with just under four minutes remaining in the game to take 44-40 lead over Salem. The Witches got the ball back at their own 20 yard line with 3:46 to play that resulted in an 80 game winning drive. With just seconds remaining, Salem quarterback Corey Grimes scrambled to his right and found Albert Pujols in the back right side of the endzone for a stunning catch to give Salem the win 48-44. Pujols just got his toes inbounds while reaching up to grab the football. (Hear from both players below). This game could have ended with either team winning. Lynn Classical and Salem throughout the night each had solid defensive plays, each team was able to move the football on offense and make athletic plays. Matt Roy of the Boston Herald reported, “What a fantastic game to watch. Classical’s Brian Vaughan throws for 409 yards and 5 TD and the Rams fall. Salem is a legitimate contender and Corey Grimes is really good.
