NEWBURYPORT – Newburyport High School football coach Ben Smolski had to make a quick decision with under 2 minutes left in the game against Bedford and the score 21-20 Bedford. The Clippers had just scored to come within a point of tying up the game. What to do? Go for the tie? Or the win?
Well, the score ended up 22-21 Newburyport, so that gives you a clue.
With the win, the Clippers are now 3-1 and will host Hamilton-Wenham (0-5) at 6:30 on Friday.
