SALEM — Salem State will host the 2023 MASCAC Men’s Golf Championship this Saturday and Sunday, September 30 & October 1 at The Meadow at Peabody Golf Course. Third year head coach Jimmy O’Reilly’s squad is seeking their third straight title and NCAA Tournament bid. The Vikings have claimed 21 MASCAC titles in their history and have had 20 individual medalists.
Tournament Notes:
- Salem State’s Ethan Doyle claimed the MASCAC individual title in 2021 @ Berkshire Hills.
- The Vikings are hosting the MASCAC Championship for the first time since the 1983-84 season.
- MCLA’s Matt Gover has won five individual titles this season, including The Brett Williamson Invitational and Castleton Invitational this past week.
- Salem State won 14-of-the-first-18 MASCAC Tournaments beginning in 1972.
- Westfield State won back to back championships in 2020-21 and have won four MASCAC Tournaments all-time.
- Worcester State, which won the championship in 1982 & 1985, and Springfield (2019 champions) will round out the field.
