Masconomet Regional High School Welcomes Two New Administrators

BOXFORD – Superintendent Michael Harvey shares news that Masconomet Regional High School has welcomed two new administrators.

Katherine DiNardo has been named Masconomet Regional High School’s new Principal and Christopher Kobs as the new Assistant Principal. Both individuals started in their new roles on July 1.

DiNardo brings a wealth of experience as an administrator to her new role, having previously served as Masconomet Regional High School’s Assistant Principal since 2012, Gloucester High School’s Assistant Principal from 2010-2012, and Watertown High School’s Vice Principal from 2007-2010.

DiNardo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Wooster, in Wooster, OH, and a Master of Education and certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Cambridge College, in Cambridge.

“I am so looking forward to this new year and job. MASCO has such amazing students and staff that have been so welcoming and seem equally excited for a fantastic school year. As the school year starts, we have hit the ground running with athletics in full swing, musical auditions, Grade 9 orientation with peer leaders, and our activities fair,” said DiNardo. “The school is buzzing with exciting things and the students are eager and ready to learn from such a knowledgeable veteran staff. I can’t say enough great things about the MASCO community, school spirit, and the family that we are creating.”

Kobs comes to the District after serving as the Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, and CVTE Program Leader at Gloucester High School since 2012. He brings his deep knowledge in education, having also worked as Gloucester High School’s Assistant Principal Intern from 2009-2011, Social Studies teacher from 2004-2012, and as a Sports Instructor and Coordinator and Interim Teen Director at the Cape Ann YMCA in Gloucester from 2002-2004.

Kobs holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami, in Floral Gables, FL, and a Master of Education in School Administration from American International College, in Springfield.

“I am excited for the 2023-24 school year. After working at Gloucester High School for the past 19 years, I look forward to this next chapter in my career,” said Kobs.” I look forward to being a positive and energetic presence in the school that the students, staff, and community can trust in helping the MASCO community be the best it can be. I look forward to developing relationships, whether it be by greeting students as they enter the building each day, having an open-door policy for communication, or getting into classrooms to see what the MASCO community does best, teaching and learning.”

“All of us at MASCO are very excited that Katherine and Christopher have joined the team at the high school,” said Superintendent Harvey. “They each bring a lot to the table, and we will greatly appreciate having their expertise and knowledge. Welcome to you both!”
