Groveland Police Department Investigating Motor Vehicle Crash Involving Two Pedestrians

GROVELAND – Chief Jeffrey Gillen reports that the Groveland Police Department is investigating to a motor vehicle crash involving two pedestrians this morning.

On Monday, Sept. 18 at approximately 8:30 a.m., a Groveland Police officer who was stationed near the Bagnall School received a report that two pedestrians had been struck by a car while crossing the street across from the school, 262 School Street.

Upon arrival officers located the two pedestrians involved, a 67-year-old Groveland woman and a 7-year-old juvenile.

The pedestrians were evaluated on scene by Groveland Fire and Trinity EMS and suffered what are believed to be minor injuries. Both were transported to a local area hospital for further evaluation.

The operator of the vehicle, a 51-year-old Haverhill man, stayed on scene and was cooperative with police.

The operator was issued a citation for failure to slow down for pedestrians.

The incident remains under investigation by the Groveland Police Department.
