Endicott Football Shuts Out St. Lawrence, 31-0 – Lynnfield, Marblehead Alumni Shine on Offense

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott football team defeated St. Lawrence, 31-0, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

Defensively, Endicott limited the Saints to 111 yards of total offense and never allowed the visitors into the red zone (1Q, drive end – H24, interception at H6 | 2Q, drive end – H38, punt).

Michael Vecchione (Chelmsford) set the tone early in the first quarter when he broke five tackles on a run up the gut that resulted in a 32-yard touchdown score (1Q, 12:26, 7-0).

Clayton Marengi (Lynnfield) added a five-yard yard scamper later in the quarter (1:32, 14-0) before he threaded the needle on a 30-yard corner end zone route to Ryan Freiberger (Marblehead)to cap the scoring in the half (5:10, 21-0).

From there, Ryan Smith (Glastonbury, Conn.) chipped home a 34-yard field goal in the third (6:10, 24-0), while Adam Goodfellow (Wayland) hauled in a 37-yard TD catch from Marengi in the fourth to finish off St. Lawrence (11:59, 31-0).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 3-2 all-time against the Saints (three straight victories).
  • Vecchione and Goodfellow scored their first career touchdowns.
  • Goodfellow ended the contest with career-highs in receptions (5) and yards (78)
  • Joe Tirrell (Franklin, Mass.) paced the Gulls with a career-high nine tackles (2 solo, 0.5 TFL).
  • Matthew Licciardi (East Greenwich, R.I.) contributed seven tackles, including one sack for 10 yards and 3.5 tackles for a loss (14 yards).
  • Ryan Guilfoyle (Simsbury, Conn.) posted a career-high seven tackles (2.0 TFL).
  • Joseph Pagett (Newtown, Conn.) had two interceptions (tied career-high) and three tackles.
  • The Gulls were 6-for-12 on third down conversions.
