MARBLEHEAD – In partnership with the Marblehead League of Women Voters, Abbot Public Library is presenting a series of lectures on Marblehead Town Government, providing the opportunity for town residents to learn about how individual departments work within the municipality. Monday, Sept. 18, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
The first speaker for Fall 2023 is Andrew Petty, Director of Public Health. He will discuss the Landfill Closure and Transfer Station projects with special attention to the planning, regulatory compliance and coordination with other departments and agencies. An overview of the Health Department responsibilities will also be presented. Questions and discussion will follow.
Andrew Petty has been the Director of Public Health for the Town of Marblehead since 2011. He is in charge of the Health Department as well as Trash and Recycling for the Town, which includes running the Transfer Station. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Environmental Science and is a Registered Sanitarian in the State of Massachusetts.
