Over the Labor Day weekend we are reprising over 25 feature interviews with north shore football coaches. In these interviews the coaches share memories from the days as players and reflect on the events and people that have shaped them as coaches. These interviews were conducted in August, many of them prior to the first day of practices (8/18). After Labor Day, msonewsports will be previewing opening high school matchups on the opening weekend of play. (9/8)
SAUGUS – (Podcast) Saugus High School football coach Steve Cummings is beginning his 5th season in leading the Sachems. This summer our website is doing a series of interviews with north shore football coaches to have them share their stories as players and the events that led them to a career in coaching. Cummings played his high school football in Marshfield and shares a story about a very memorable game and also discusses this time at Framingham State. Saugus football will open thier 2023 season at home 9/8 vs. Chelsea. As noted in the podcast, (1995 Marshfield vs. Hingham game) story and video link is posted below.
