ESSEX – Chief Paul Francis reports that the Essex Police Department responded to dispute in a parking lot on Tuesday, and determined that a report of a road rage incident was unfounded and that no weapons were involved.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Essex Police responded to a business parking lot on Eastern Avenue for a report of a dispute
Responding officers were told that the incident had occurred 40 minutes earlier, and that one party had made threats, shown a firearm, and drove away. Essex Police began searching the area for the suspect, and broadcasted incident information and the vehicle’s description over the Boston Area Police Emergency Network.
Essex officers located the vehicle’s owner and possible suspect in the incident. Through a subsequent investigation that took into account information from both parties as well as witnesses, Essex Police determined that no firearm or other weapon was involved.
Essex Police believe the dispute was an isolated incident, that no one was armed, and that there was no danger to the general public. No charges have been filed at this time.
