GLOUCESTER – Gloucester Harbormaster Captain T.J. Ciarametaro has been on the job since 2016. A Coast Guard veteran, he has undertaken an upgrade of the Harbormaster’s office, facilities and duties. A relatively new system allows maritime visitors to Gloucester to reserve moorings online; and an experienced staff crews the Harbormaster’s office year-round.
In the interview below, Captain Ciarametaro explains the duties of the Harobmaster’s office, how it interacts with the Coast Guard, Gloucester Police, Gloucester Fire and other authorities; and how it services both experienced boaters and amateurs as well.
