Report from Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker’s Office – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in North Andover on Sunday
The pedestrian was walking on a sidewalk along Massachusetts Avenue near Route 125 when the pedestrian was struck by a Honda Civic about 1:30 p.m.
The pedestrian was transported to Lawrence General Hospital, where the pedestrian was pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver remained at the scene. No charges have been filed or citations issued at this moment.
The incident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and detectives from the North Andover Police Department.
Methuen – Body Found
The Methuen Fire Department responded to a boat ramp at 1110 Riverside Drive, Methuen, about 12:45 p.m. after being alerted to the discovery of a body in the river.
Methuen Police also responded, as did the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team.
The body was recovered and is pending identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The case remains under investigation by the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit, detectives from the Methuen Police Department and other authorities.
