Rowley Police Department Charges Manchester-by-the-Sea Man with Distribution of Child Pornography

ROWLEY — Chief Scott Dumas reports that the Rowley Police Department charged a Manchester-by-the-Sea man with distribution of child pornography as a result of an investigation by the Rowley Police Cyber Crimes Unit.

CASEY CONNORS, AGE 44, OF MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, was arrested and charged with:

  • Distribution of Child Pornography

In December, the Rowley Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit initiated an investigation into the distribution of child pornography as a result of materials being sent to officers acting in an undercover capacity online.

An investigation determined the files involved were sent from a computer in Manchester-by-the-Sea.

On April 20, the Rowley Police Cyber Crimes Unit, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police, Manchester-by-the-Sea Police, Ipswich Police and Topsfield Police, executed a search warrant at the Manchester-by-the-Sea residence.

As a result of evidence recovered during that search, Rowley Police obtained an arrest warrant for CONNORS, the sole resident of the apartment, charging him with Distribution of Child Pornography.

CONNORS was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 2, and arraigned the same day in Newburyport District Court.

“I’d like to commend the work of Detective Robert Adams and Officer Lucas Tubbs,” said Chief Dumas. “Without their diligence and wherewithal in furtherance of these investigations, these damaging crimes would remain in the shadows.”

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
