Baseball

Lynn Classical 9, Medford 3 – Kevin Whalen pitched complete game; 0 BB 4 K – Almani Gerardo 2-5 with a  HR, 2B 5 RBI – Darnell Leon 3-5 with 2 RBI, Sam Ohannesian 3-4 with an RBI

North Reading 10, Manchester-Essex 2 – NR now 6-2

North Reading 22, Ipswich 4 – It was the Kristen Galvin show, going three for three with 3 home runs including a GRAND-SLAM! Emilia Yeakel with her first varsity victory on the mound!

Girls Lacrosse

Marblehead 15, Salem 2

Hamilton-Wenham 17, Georgetown 9 – Behind 3-4, the Generals went on an offensive surge and scored 5 unanswered goals to end the half 8-4 and continued to widen their lead throughout the game. The Generals offense was led by freshman Evelyn Bernard (6 goals, 1 assist, 14 draw controls) and sophomore Maisie Leland (4 goals, 2 assists). Hamilton Wenham showed their depth in scoring with Stewart Bernard (2 goals, 1 assist), Grace Glidden (2 goals), Hannah Ciriello (1 goal), Emmal Happel (1 goal) and Dylan Whitman (1 goal) also contributing. The tight Generals defense of Lucy Ayers and Hailey Ireland around the cage prevented the Royals from being effective. Junior captain Ava Vautour had 6 saves in goal. Hamilton Wenham improves to 4-4 (2-3 CAL) and travels to North Reading on Monday for another CAL matchup.

Girls Tennis 

Hamilton-Wenham 5, Manchester-Essex 0 – The Generals improved to 7-0 with an impressive 5-0 win over today Manchester Essex. Laynee Wilkins and Sofia Montoya completed the sweep at second doubles coming back from a 1-6, 0-3 deficit to win 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 – 0ther Winners; 1s Sky Jara 6-0, 6-3, – 2s Naomi Provost 6-0, 6-0,  3s Chloe Gern 6-4 6-1, 1d Sienna Gregory and Abby Simon 6-4, 6-2

Ipswich 3, Amesbury 2 – Ipswich (2-3) got wins from Freshman Abbie Allen (7-6.6-2) at Number 1 singles.  Doubles teams Beylen Curtis (Sr.)/Frannie Hertz (So.) and Norah Hickey (Jr.)/Lila Borgman (So.) won convincingly to seal the team victory.
