BEVERLY (Podcast) The Endicott baseball team (25-8 / 11-1) will host Wentworth Saturday morning in a senior day doubleheader (10 a.m. / 1 p.m.) Head coach Bryan Haley started as head coach in 2008 and has brought the Gulls to within one win of the NCAA D3 College World Series twice (2013, 2014). in this podcast interview Haley discusses his team’s national ranking, their senior day games on Saturday (4/29) and he shares player updates. Thursday Game – Endicott Posts 10-4 Win at UMASS Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH The No. 5/9 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated UMass Dartmouth, 10-4, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

WP (1-1): Ian Parent (Williston, Vt.) — 4 2/3 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
LP (0-1): Adam Horowitz (Seekonk) — 2/3 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

Endicott produced a three-run fifth inning, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of John Mulready (Peabody), and the Gulls were never threatened the rest of the way.

Caleb Shpur (East Canaan) and Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.) also drove in two runs apiece to headline the offense.

In relief, Evan Scully (Maynar) polished off the last two frames to extend his scoreless streak to 5 2/3 innings to begin his collegiate career.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Shpur tied the program record for steals in a game with five in today’s win (Michael DeDonato vs. Wentworth, 5/05/18).
  • He also leads the conference in steals with 33 on the year (entered the week ranked 12th in D3).
  • The Gulls have won four in a row.
  • Endicott is 16-5 on the road this season.

BEVERLY Endicott College has been ranked No. 5 overall in the latest D3baseball.com Poll (Week 9). Today’s announcement marks the highest national ranking in program history.

The Gulls are also ranked No. 9 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (CBN) poll, marking the first time the program has cracked the top-10 in both polls, simultaneously.

Endicott is currently 27-5 overall and 11-1 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play this season.

Top-10 NCAA Division III national rankings include:

  • Fielding percentage (1st, .982)
  • Earned run average (2nd, 3.06)
  • Hits allowed per nine innings (6th, 7.51)
  • Home runs (10th, 46)
  • Home runs per game (8th, 1.44)
  • Shutouts (10th, 5)
  • Walks and hits per innings pitched (1st, 1.16)
  • Win-loss percentage (7th, .844)
