NEWBURYPORT – Newburyport High School girls’ lacrosse coach Catherine Batchelder has a continuous record of developing Clipper teams that are always competing for championships. This year is no exception. The Clippers have blasted off to a 6-0 record, including wins over nonleague opponents Portsmouth, NH and Andover.
Going 4-0 in the CAL so far, the Clippers have outscored their opponents 82-12. Overall, they have scored 110 goals, while giving up just 22.
Coach Batchelder relies on the leadership of her three captains, including a 200-point scorer, to guide some of the younger players.
