Endicott Baseball Sets Single Game Home Run Record (7) in 22-3 Win Over Salem State – Gulls Nationally Ranked

BEVERLY The No. 6/14 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team hit a program record seven home runs to defeat Salem State, 22-3, on Tuesday evening at the Central Campus Baseball Field.

WP (1-0): Ryan Walton (Boylston) – 1 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
LP (1-2): Jake Usenia (Uxbridge) – 2 IP, 8 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Jake Nardone (Wakefield) paced the Gulls with a pair of two-run homers, one coming in the first and the other in the second. He finished the contest going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI.

Meanwhile, Caleb Shpur (East, Canaan, Conn.)Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton)Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood)John Mulready (Peabody), and Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth) all launched solo shots to etch the 2023 squad into the single-game program record book for most home runs (7).

The Gulls also set the single-game program record for total bases with 51 total in today’s victory (7 HR, 1 3B, 4 2B, 12 1B). The previous school record was 43 (4/2/22 vs WNEU).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls lead the all-time series 18-17-2 (winners of five straight).
  • Endicott improved to 10-4 overall on the road this season.
  • Everyone in the starting lineup had at least one hit for the Gulls.
  • Endicott is outscoring its opponents 223-77 this spring.
  • The Blue and Green have scored in double-digits 10 times this season.

The Endicott baseball team has been ranked No. 6 overall in the latest D3baseball.com Poll (Week 7). Today’s announcement marks the highest national ranking in program history.

Endicott is currently 18-4 overall and 6-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play this season.

The Gulls are also ranked No. 14 in the third regular season installment of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (CBN) poll.

Endicott entered the 2023 campaign ranked No. 10 by CBN and No. 12 by D3baseball.com.
