LYNN (Video – Photos) The #1 seeded St. Mary’s girls hockey team scored two first period goals as the Spartans beat #8 seeded Peabody 2-0 Wednesday evening at the Connery Rink in Lynn. With the win St. Mary’s advances to the MIAA Division One semifinals. The game’s first goal came at 7:20 of the first period and was scored by Tia Picardi on a rebound with assists from Gianna Young and Vanessa Hall. The Spartan’s second goal came just a little over two minutes later (9:50) from Jenna Chaplain with an assist from Amanda Forziati. Angelina Catino got the shutout in goal for St. Mary’s. Alyse Mutti play well in nets for Peabody. Hear post game comments from both coaches.
