Hamilton Wenham Girls Soccer – HW 2 Manchester-Essex 1 – Report from HW coach Nancy Waddell

The Generals opened the scoring with a goal in the tenth minute by sophomore forward Tessa Hunt.  The goal was assisted by junior midfielder Lily Mark.  Less than 3 minutes later, M-E tied things up on a corner kick that the Generals didn’t clear well.  With fifteen minutes remaining in the game, Mark drove the ball deep into the right corner, and her cross into the middle found senior midfielder Ella Schenker on the far post.  Schenker controlled the cross and sent the winning shot past the M-E goalie.
Junior Stewart Bernard was in goal for the visiting team.
The Generals are now 8-5.  They play a non-league game against Essex Tech on Wednesday on the road.
