BEVERLY — Endicott sophomore defensive lineman Hector Johnson (Worcester, Mass.) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, as announced by the organization earlier today.

Johnson set a career-high for tackles (6, all solo), sacks (4, 28 yards), and tackles for a loss (4, 28 yards) in Endicott’s 24-0 win against WPI last Friday. He also recorded his first-ever field goal block (24-yard attempt) in the victory.

Today’s announcement marks Johnson’s first career D3football.com Team of the Week award and second weekly award in as many days.

Yesterday, Johnson was chosen as the Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

The D3football.com Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3football.com’s weekly honor roll, which is currently in its 24th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week.

Student-athletes are nominated by their school’s sports information directors.

Overall, Johnson is the ninth student-athlete to be chosen to the D3football.com Team of the Week and the 11th overall selection (two student-athletes with two honors each) in program history.

Johnson also is the fourth defensive lineman to earn D3football.com Team of the Week honors joining two-time Academic All-American Craig Anderson ’17 (Franklin, Mass.), Endicott Hall of Famer Kevin Eagan ’12 (West Hartford, Conn.), and current teammate Colin Meropoulos (Monroe, Conn.) on the illustrious list.

The Gulls’ defensive line leads the way with five overall selections out of all position groups since the program was established in 2003.

Congratulations to our week 2 recipients of The Rock & The Wave Awards, DB Joe Tirrell ‘26 & Kicker Chris Edwards ‘23.
