A fatal stabbing is under investigation, according to Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Lawrence Police Chief Roy Vasque.
At approximately 3:04 this morning, Lawrence Police responded to a 911 call for medical assistance at 12 Diamond Street. Responding officers found a 30-year old female deceased from apparent multiple stab wounds. A 39-year old male was transported to Lawrence General Hospital with apparent stab wounds. He remains hospitalized.
Investigators believe that there is no threat to the general public. The matter remains under investigation by the Essex District Attorney’s Office, the Essex State Police Detective Unit and the Lawrence Police. When additional information is available, it will be released. (Currently, there are no plans for a presser.)
