PATRIOT, IVY LEAGUERS TO PITCH FOR NORTH SHORE NAVIGATORS IN 2022
LYNN — With first pitch just a week away, the North Shore Navigators have added pitchers from three different schools within the Patriot and Ivy Leagues to their roster for the 2022 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) season.
Jack DiLauro topped the College of the Holy Cross rotation during his junior season, posting a 5.95 ERA with 65 strikeouts and a .257 opponent’s average across 59 innings. He made 12 starts into the Crusaders’ Patriot League playoff run, including a 13-strikeout performance against Bucknell and a win over Lafayette. The righty from Glastonbury, Conn., led the team in K’s in back-to-back years after tallying 39 across 38.2 frames in 2021 and then worked in nine games for the NECBL’s Mystic Schooners last summer.
Another Patriot League righty, Lehigh’s Timmy Kenney pitched in five games during his freshman year as a Mountain Hawk, allowing just three earned runs, three walks and struck out five across 5.1 innings. He recorded a pair of strikeouts during his final two appearances, including the last against Patriot League rival Army West Point. The Hopedale native attended Loomis Chaffee in Connecticut.
A junior pitcher for Ivy League champion Columbia, Justin Tucker didn’t allow an earned run and struck out six over his first nine innings of six-hit ball this season. Tucker earned his first career victory against Davidson in March before making appearances against rivals Penn and Princeton. He spent two summers with the West Coast League’s Bellingham Bells in his native Washington.
The Navs kick off their 15th summer of collegiate baseball on Tuesday, June 7 with the home opener at Fraser Field set for Thursday, June 9.
