Three men were arraigned today in Newburyport District Court on charges related to the shooting and strangulation of a pet dog.
Jacob Dow, 28, Salisbury, was found dangerous and ordered held without bail by Judge Allen Swan following a dangerousness hearing. He is charged with Maliciously Killing or Injury to a Domestic Animal, Cruelty to Animal (2 counts), Misleading a Police Investigation, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling and Improper Storage of a Firearm.
Donald Dow, 29, Salisbury, was arraigned for Misleading a Police Investigation, Improper Storage of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm without a License. Bail was set at $1500 and he was ordered to stay away from and have no contact with the victim and surrender all firearms and FID cards.
George Dow, 77, Seabrook, NH, was arraigned for Misleading a Police Investigation. He was released on the condition that he stays away from and has no contact with the victim and surrenders all firearms and FID cards.
Pleas of not guilty were entered on behalf of the defendants. The case is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on April 5, 2022.
The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
