Essex Police Investigating Residential Break-In

ESSEX — Chief Paul Francis reports Essex Police are actively investigating a residential break-in that occurred early this morning.

At 4:28 a.m., Essex Police responded to Southern Avenue for a report of a breaking and entering in progress at a residential home. Following an initial investigation, police believe a male suspect entered the mudroom area of the home, and was confronted verbally by the homeowners. Nothing is believed to have been stolen from the home at this time.

Prior to police arrival, the male suspect fled on foot.

Essex Police searched the area, and Manchester-by-the-Sea Police also assisted in the search.

The male suspect is described as being approximately 30-years-old, six feet tall, 180 pounds, with short dirty-blonde hair and blonde facial hair. He was wearing khaki pants and a gray long sleeve shirt at the time of the incident.
