Marblehead just didn’t have enough magic to pull this one out.
Albino Neto started for the magicians but struggled early and gave 5 earned runs.
A big plus for the magicians was the work by junior Bjorn Pluss on the mound -2 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs and 2 k’s.
Missed opportunities by both teams – offensively and defensively defined this game.
Both teams had bases loaded in the first two innings but neither team got the big hit.
Charlie Titus, Godot Gaskins and Shane Keough all had two hits for the magicians who out hit Gloucester 9 to 8.
One of Keough’s hits was a solo Homerun in the 7th to cut the lead to one but a nice play by starter Abbott who had moved over to first base ended the game.
The magicians are now 10-3 and will play Salem at Salem State on Wednesday at 4 pm.
