SWAMPSCOTT – The Big Blue are scheduled to start the 2021 Northeastern Conference baseball season at Marblehead on Wednesday, but Swampscott High School coach Joe Caponigro, concerned about the weather, is preparing his team for whatever might take place. Trying to compact a three-week preseason into a 5-day period has been a learning curve for his players, who last participated in interscholastic competition in 2019.
