Softball Sets Single Game Run Record In 20-5 Win Over Curry

Milton, Mass. – The Endicott softball team defeated Curry, 20-5, on Wednesday afternoon at D. Forbes Will Field.

WP: Molly O’Neill (Shrewsbury, Mass.) 4 1/3 IP, 3 H 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 2 SO

LP: Taylor Newcomb (Millville, Mass.) 1 1/3 IP, 7 H, 11 R, 9 ER, 4 BB, 1 SO

Trailing 3-2 after one inning, the Gulls exploded for 16 second-inning runs and never looked back scoring a program-record 20 runs in the victory.

The Gulls got hits from seven different student-athletes in the big second inning.

Meanwhile, Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.), Meghan Connor (St. Albans, Vt.), Raven Comtois (Milford, N.H.), Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.), Katie Terban (Georgetown, Mass.), Zoe Rose (Carlstadt, N.J.), Carly Marchitto (Orange, Conn.), and Emma DaSilva (Bristol, R.I.), all batted in runs during the frame.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Game 2 got canceled because of weather.
  • Connor batted in a game-high five runs.
  • 13 different student-athletes recorded a hit for Endicott.
  • 19 hits is a season-high for the Gulls.
