WINTHROP – Instead of hosting Cathedral High School on Saturday, the Winthrop Vikings (2-0) will be taking on the Framingham Flyers (2-0) of the Bay State League at Miller Field on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. With COVID protocol necessitating the change, the game between Winthrop High School (population 615 students) and Framingham High School (population 2,177 students) features one of the smallest high schools in the state vs one of the largest. Winthrop Coach Jon Cadigan is preparing his players for the challenge.
