GLOUCESTER – Gloucester Fire Chief Eric Smith reports that a combined rescue effort by Gloucester Police and Firefighters rescued a 59-year old paddleboarder off Stanwood Point in Gloucester at just before 5 p.m. Thursday. The rescue was difficult and at least two tourniquets had to be applied to what is believed to be a femoral artery injury. According to Chief Smith, the unidentified man was med-flighted to Burlington Hospital
