GLOUCESTER – The Tarr Family has done it again. Not that it was ever easy. But this time, it took some problem solving by older brother Ringo Tarr, trying to figure out how to get to Canada with the border closed to Americans, then some fine logistical maneuvering by younger brother, MA State Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr negotiating between the USA and the Canadian Consulate, and then some cross-New England driving by Ringo and other family members to finally get the Gloucester Christmas Tree to Kent Circle Friday evening.
On Saturday, the Tarr brothers, family, friends and other community volunteers continued their long tradition of getting the tree upright and decorated. The tree lights will be turned on sometime between this weekend and the Sunday after Thanksgiving, although the usual parade and tree-lighting festivities will probably not take place due to COVID.
