Hamilton-Wenham loses
The Generals took their first loss of the season at Manchester-Essex on a bone-chilling night. The game was tied heading into the fourth quarter. The Generals had the majority of the scoring opportunities, especially in the third quarter, but couldn’t put one away. Junior forward Claire Nistl lead a majority of the attacks, including a shot off a break away that banged off the post.
Early in the fourth quarter, the HW defense got out of shape, and M-E put in the first goal. A few minutes later junior midfielder Jane Maguire blasted a shot towards goal that deflected off the M-E defender. With just a few minutes left, M-E earned a corner kick, and scored on a high shot to the far post. The Generals pushed for the tying goal, but ran out of time.
The Generals are now 6-1-2. The season ends at Triton on Wednesday.
