The Municipal Assistance Coordinator will act under the supervision of MassDEP and will conduct various activities targeted at helping North Shore area municipalities establish and maintain effective recycling and waste reduction programs. In addition, through MassDEP’s Sustainable Materials Recovery Program, the Coordinator will be assigned to work with grantees (municipalities and regional groups) to assist with the implementation of selected waste reduction initiatives. The Coordinator shall also provide assistance to the Beverly on matters relating to solid waste management, recycling, composting, hazardous household waste, and other waste reduction priorities as approved by MassDEP.
The following North Shore area communities will be supported by the Municipal Assistance Coordinator: Amesbury, Beverly, Boxford, Chelsea, Danvers, Essex, Everett, Georgetown, Gloucester, Groveland, Hamilton, Haverhill, Ipswich, Lynn, Lynnfield, Malden, Manchester, Marblehead, Melrose, Merrimac, Middleton, Nahant, Newbury, Newburyport, North Reading, Peabody, Reading, Revere, Rockport, Rowley, Salem, Salisbury, Saugus, Swampscott, Topsfield, Wakefield, Wenham, West Newbury and Winthrop.
