Dorchester Man Arraigned in Lynn Murder

NO BAIL FOR DORCHESTER MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF LYNN MAN

A 28-year old Dorchester man was ordered held without bail by Judge William Martin at his arraignment today in Lynn District Court.  Tyrell Mitchell is charged with murder in connection with the beating death of a Lynn man on March 11th.  The case is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on August 27th.

At at proximately 9:21 pm on March 11th, Lynn Police responded to a reported robbery at 700 Washington Street.  Further investigation found that the victim was outside his home and forced into a motor vehicle.  His home was later robbed.  The victim, Nelson Nunez, 47, was found deceased at approximately 6:00 am on March 12th at the corner of Essex and Baldwin Streets.

The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and the Quincy Police took Mr. Mitchell into custody this morning in Quincy, MA.  The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This matter remains under investigation by the Essex District Attorney’s Office, Lynn Police and the Essex State Police Detective Unit.
