Five people shot – One dead in Lynn

Five people were shot – one fatally – in Lynn while at a cookout last night, according to Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Lynn Police Chief Michael Mageary.

At approximately 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of 134 Fayette Street.  Five people were shot.  One man, a 35 year old from Lynn, was transported to Salem Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Another man was med-flighted to a Boston hospital with life threatening injuries.  Three other people were shot and are expected to survive.

No arrests have been made.  The Essex District Attorney’s Office, the Essex State Police Detective Unit and the Lynn Police are investigating.
