GLOUCESTER – Gloucester High School senior softball captain Maddie Machado led her team to a near-state championship run last season, leading the team in clutch hitting. In 2020, as the only senior on the team, Maddie was ready for another spectacular season.
Despite the shutdown caused by the current state of emergency, Maddie, a Northeastern Conference All Star, stays in contact with her teammates, stays up on her studies, and stays in playing condition. She’ll be attending St. Joseph’s College in Maine in September and will be playing softball once again.
