Dear Rockport Music patrons,
With the rapidly changing conditions with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, Rockport Music has decided to cancel all Shalin Liu Performance Center events starting today through the end of March. We are concerned and committed to the safety of our patrons, staff and volunteers as the Coronavirus (Covid-19) virus situation develops.
A list of current cancelled events:
March 13 (tonight): Carbon Leaf
March 14: Met Opera broadcast Der Fliegende Hollander
March 20: Met encore showing Porgy and Bess
March 21: Mari Black
March 22: The Bad Plus
March 27: Adam Ezra Group
March 28: 10,000 Maniacs
March 31: Berklee’s Sensory Friendly Recital
There are additional closings already in April, including the Boston Children’s Chorus and the NEC Jazz Sextet.
We will continue to keep our patrons updated as the situation develops and will notify you if it is determined to extend the event closings. We are working with the artists’ management to reschedule the concerts for a date in the future and will keep you updated of any newly scheduled dates.
We are happy to provide refunds on ticket purchases or credit you for a future performance. Please note that the closure of the Shalin Liu Performance Center and the cancellation of concerts will have a major impact on ticket revenue that is critical to our continued operation. We hope you might consider, when possible, turning your ticket purchase into a gift to Rockport Music as opposed to taking a refund, for which you will receive a tax deduction for the total ticket value.
If you would like to donate the value of your ticket, simply email our Box Office at info@rockportmusic.org or call 978-546-7391 and indicate your desire to make the value of your ticket a gift to Rockport Music. Otherwise, your refund will be processed within the next 3-5 business days.
We will continue to monitor the developments of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and will notify all patrons regarding any further cancellations and when concerts resume. In the meantime, please check our website or connect with us on social media for further updates.
