DANVERS – The Essex Tech Hawks (9-3-5, 6-1-2) squeezed by the Rockport Vikings (9-7-3, 5-3-2) 1 – 0, with the lone goal coming early in the third period. After a tight first period, and a second period in which Rockport had the ice advantage, Essex Tech came storming out of the locker room after the second intermission to capitalize on a 2 on 1 break. Senior captain Nick Ippolito (Peabody) fed sophomore David Egan (Boxford) who picked the short side to get the game winner at 1:45 of the third.
Senior goaltender Jared McLaughlin (Hamilton)registered the shutout.
Rockport has a road game with Hamilton-Wenham Saturday to close out the regular season, while hosts Watertown on Saturday
