Boys Tennis
Concord Carlisle 5 Marblehead 0 – Report from coach Elisabeth Foukal
On a sunny and warm noon-time make up match, Concord-Carlisle won the match 5-0 but not before Marblehead boys played some fine tennis.
1sr singles: Senior quad-captain Justin Faia lost to Cole Hamilton 6-0, 6-0. Justin competed well but this young player has had many more miles on the tennis court.
2nd singles: Senior quad-captain Felix Litvak lost to Ben Heinrich 6-0, 6-0. There were a lot of deuce games but CC was able to close out the games.
3rd singles: Sophomore Billy Ackerman lost a tough one to Steve Li 4-6, 6-2, 10-3. Billy won the first set with excellent depth and precision.
1st doubles: Senior quad-captains Sam Orenstein and Garrett Tully lost to fellow seniors Lucas Bernard and Peter Mushlitz 6-0, 6-3. Sam and Garrett had a slow start but played a much more competitive second set.
2nd doubles: Sophomores Dan Litvak and Jack Quigley lost to Nick Wave and Toby Klem 6-2, 6-0, though the match was closer than the score with some fine points and reflex volleys.
In 1st sub-varsity Luke Fobert and Harry Dolin lost to Mark Driscoll and Jack Driscoll 8-1; in second sub-V, Harry Dolin teamed up with freshman Reid Tully and lost 8-2.
This was a tough match but it was played with great sportsmanship and we enjoyed the lovely tennis facility at CC HS and look forward to playing them again next year.
