MIAA Spring Tournament Brackets

In weekend high school tournament sports, state championship games were played. Just a handful of north shore teams remained alive heading into the weekend.
Baseball
Division 4 state title game, Hamilton-Wenham fell to Seekonk 4-3. The Generals finished the season at 23-2
Division 5 state title went to Georgetown with their 3-2 extra inning win over English. The Royals scored two runs in the 7th inning to tie the game and then won the game in the 8th inning with Ryan Skahan’s sacrifice fly to score Nate Anderton.
Boys Tennis
Division 4 – Mystic Valley topped Hamilton-Wenham 3-2
Girls Tennis
Division 4 – Manchester-Essex was a 3-2 winner of Hamilton-Wenham. The Hornet’s winning singles players: Grace Scarbrough, Sarah Cort, and Ellen Gibson. Hamilton-Wenham took both doubles matches.
The North Shore Navigators are 2-6 on the season. The Navs take their first South Division road trip of the summer today when they take on the Newport Gulls at Cardines Field. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
The Red Sox lost to the Rangers 6-4 last night. The Red Sox return to action tomorrow night at home when they host Toronto.

Girls Tennis: FINAL – The Hornets defeat Ipswich and advance to the MIAA D4 State Championship for the second year in a row! They will face the winner of Hamilton-Wenham and Bromfield on Saturday, June 13 at MIT. Time TBA. Way to go, Hornets!
