IPSWICH — The Ipswich Public Health Department announces that the Opioid Abatement Collaborative (OAC), which includes the City of Gloucester and Town of Rockport Health Departments, has been awarded a second round of funding through the Mosaic Opioid Recovery Partnership.
The Collaborative received a second round of funding through the Mosaic Opioid Recovery Partnership, funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, and powered by the RIZE Massachusetts Foundation. This regional initiative invests approximately $300,000 annually utilizing local opioid abatement funds matched by Mosaic/RIZE funding to expand access to opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment and recovery services.
The OAC is led by public health leaders from Gloucester, Ipswich, and Rockport. Guided by needs assessments and community input, the OAC works to reduce barriers such as cost, transportation, and stigma by providing rapid cost-of-care relief, investing in recovery supports, and increasing community education around OUD.

Services available to residents include free supportive housing, transportation to treatment and recovery programs and substance-free community wellness activities that support long-term recovery.
The $150,000 from the second round of grant funding will be utilized to continue funding these key services and expand peer recovery coaching services.
Previously, the OAC received a $150,000 grant from the Mosaic Municipal Matching Grant through the RIZE Massachusetts Foundation, which they used to match contributions from each municipality’s Opioid Settlement Funds, investing a total of $300,000 into funding treatments and services to those affected by opioid use.
