Gloucester Police Department: Community Safety Update

The Gloucester Police Department is committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming community. We would like to inform residents about recent enforcement initiatives and safety efforts in response to ongoing community concerns.
Gloucester Crossing: We’ve received ongoing concerns regarding groups operating e-bikes, bicycles, and scooters in an unsafe and erratic manner. Officers are conducting directed patrols to address unsafe or disruptive behavior and ensure the area remains safe for visitors, businesses, and residents. We have also engaged with 25 businesses in the area to strengthen communication and encourage prompt reporting of concerns.
Maplewood Avenue: Officers have been conducting selective enforcement in response to
concerns about speeding motorists.
Eastern Avenue: Increased enforcement at traffic lights is underway, with a focus on red light
violations to improve roadway safety.
These efforts are driven by community concerns and our commitment to maintaining a safe and
welcoming environment throughout the city. We value the partnership we have with our community and encourage continued communication.
Thank you for helping us keep Gloucester a safe place for everyone.
