MIAA WINTER POWER RANKING

North Reading Hornets

Hornets Honor Seniors, Rally Past Stoneham. The North Reading girls basketball team celebrated five outstanding seniors — Addie, Allie, Jill, Kiersten, and Sara — before taking the floor for their matchup with Stoneham High School. Surrounded by family, teammates, and a loud home crowd, each senior was recognized for the impact they’ve made on the program. Once the ball tipped, the night turned into a defensive grind. The Hornets found themselves trailing at halftime, locked in a low‑scoring battle where every possession felt like a tug‑of‑war. But the second half told a different story. North Reading came out of the locker room with renewed energy, sharper execution, and a noticeable spark from their senior leaders. The offense erupted, tripling its first‑half production, while the defense continued to clamp down and control the pace. By the final buzzer, the Hornets had flipped the script — turning a halftime deficit into a strong, statement win on a special night for their senior class. A comeback, a celebration, and a night worthy of five seniors who’ve given everything to the program. Google album link from Senior night – photos.app.goo.gl/bfKoPmkwa2ugsb
