Lynnfield broke open a close game with a decisive 19-5 third quarter outburst and the Pioneers ran away from Ipswich 76-50 Monday afternoon at Doug Woodworth Court. The setback was just the Tigers’ second in six home games this year and ended their two-game winning streak.
Ipswich (6-5) fell behind 9-0 but stayed the course and trailed 40-32 at halftime. Rex Satter hit a floater to bring the Tigers to within six to begin the third quarter. Ipswich got the ball back with a chance to trim the deficit even more, but two quick turnovers led to easy Pioneer buckets and IHS never trailed by less than double figures the rest of the way.
Satter finished with a team-high 16 points to go along with five assists. Tanner Manning was the only other Tiger player in double figures, as he had 11 points and a game-high 9 rebounds. Cullen Courville had 9 on three 3-pointers.
Grant Neal led all scorers with 26 for Lynnfield (9-1), including 10-11 from the line. Oliver Harth chipped in 15 for the Pioneers who won their ninth straight contest.
