Mayor Dominick Pangallo launches Salem Compass Podcast

SALEM – Mayor Dominick Pangallo today announced the launch of a brand new podcast, Salem Compass, aimed at highlighting interesting Salem related topics in a deeper and more engaging format.  The podcast will feature in-depth conversations on city initiatives, interviews with community leaders, updates on local issues, and spotlights on topics of interest. New episodes will be released regularly and will be available on all major podcast platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon.

“This podcast is a way to connect more personally and in more depth with residents on timely topics of interest to our community,” remarked Mayor Pangallo, “This is also an opportunity to hear more details about how we’re working to improve life for everyone in Salem.  I am looking forward to using this platform to share updates and to highlight the incredible work happening throughout our community.  I want residents to feel informed, included, and inspired about what’s happening in Salem today, and as we look forward to the future.  I am grateful to city staff from my office who are producing this podcast, and I look forward to all the conversations ahead in coming episodes.  Be sure to tune in!”

The first episode, premiering today, features an in-depth discussion between Mayor Pangallo and Dr. Stephen Zrike, the Superintendent of Salem Public Schools, about a variety of SPS related topics, including details about one of the most significant investments Salem will make in generations – the Salem High School building project.

Community members should plan to tune in to future episodes planned on topics such as the city budget, the off-shore wind marshalling port project, the South Salem commuter rail station and more! Listeners are encouraged to submit questions and podcast topic suggestions by emailing mayor@salem.com.
