Haverhill Man Indicted for Manslaughter

An Essex County Grand Jury indicted a Haverhill man today on charges related to the shooting death of a 25-year-old man on February 1st in Haverhill.

Ross Tucker, 22, of Haverhill was indicted for Involuntary Manslaughter and Carrying a Firearm while Under the Influence.  He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow in Salem Superior Court.

At approximately 7:00 pm, on February 1, 2016, Haverhill Police responded to 452 Lake Street.  They found Eric Benedict, 25, of Haverhill suffering from a single gunshot wound to his head.  He was transported to Lawrence General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The Essex District Attorney’s Office conducted a Grand Jury investigation to determine the facts and circumstances of the shooting, the result of which are the indictments handed up today.
