Road Closures Today-

Route 128 Exit 26 Closed Parade Day

Route 128 Exit 26 North will be closed on Sunday, October 2, from 8 am to 5 pm due to the Peabody Centennial Parade.  Vehicles will be detoured to Exit 25a.

Washington Street Area

Several roads from the intersection of Foster Street and Washington Street to the intersection of Lynn Street and Washington Street will be temporary closed the morning of the parade beginning at 8am.

Streets temporarily closed will include: Swampscott Ave, Dustin Street, Blaney Ave, Dane Street, Wheeler Street, Hingston Street, Hourihan Street, Colfax Street, Granite Street, May Street, Goodridge Street and Washington Street from its intersection with Foster Street to its intersection with Lynnfield Street and Lynn Street.

All cars must be off the streets by 7:00am on Parade day October 2nd or they will be towed. No cars will be allowed to leave or enter the closed streets from 8:00am until the parade has passed. Streets will be opened shortly after the parade passes that street.

Additional and free parking is available to those residents impacted in the Washington Street area at the Welch School and the Meadow Golf Course. Cars can be moved to those lots the evening prior to the parade or the morning of the parade.

Emerson Park Area

This is a message for residents who live near Emerson Park. The Peabody Centennial Parade is Sunday, October 2, 2016 beginning at 11a.m. There will be a post parade celebration at Emerson Park from noon until 4 p.m. In order to insure the safety of all attendees, parking on both sides of Perkins Street will be prohibited from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 2. Peabody Police will be posting no parking signs along Perkins Street and will remove any cars parked on the street between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 2. Thank you for your cooperation.

Lynnfield Street and Foster Street

No parking will be allowed on both sides of the street on Lynnfield Street from County and Summit Street to Washington Street, and on Foster Street on Sunday, October 2 from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Quinlan Square to Northshore Road

No parking will be allowed on both sides of the Parade Route which starts at Washington and Foster Streets (Quinlan Square), down Washington Street to Main Street to Lowell Street to the Northshore Mall from Friday night, September 30 at midnight until Saturday, October 1 at 6 a.m. and on Sunday, October 2 from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m.


Shuttle Bus Service

Spectator shuttle buses will be available from Centennial Park – 2 Corporation Way and Analogic, 8 Centennial Drive – on parade day from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. or until the parking lots are full.

Spectators will be dropped off at Emerson park and will be picked up at Emerson park after the parade and returned to the centennial industrial park with the last bus leaving Emerson Park at 4:45 p.m.

Handicapped spectator parking is available at the Torigian community life center. Buses will run from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. and will drop spectators off at the Central Street parking lot. Return trips will begin immediately after the parade passes the downtown area.
